The brief provided for this project was to design an affordable, off-grid home combining hemp and timber, with a footprint of only 60m2.
The design succeeded in creating a completely self-sufficient unit inclusive of a bio-digester, rainwater harvesting and purification systems, rooftop solar panels and an eco-pool. The compact home maximises energy & resource efficiency through carefully calculated roof angels and solar gains. A regular rhythm of timber frames with hempcrete infill provides a warm, light and comfortable interior.
