84 Harrington Street is a concrete frame structure infilled with hempcrete, marking a global first as the world’s tallest building constructed using hemp-based building materials. Rising 12 storeys, the project delivers 50 apartments, all formed with hempcrete block construction. Hempcrete is a carbon-negative material that actively sequesters CO₂ from the atmosphere, with approximately 108 kg of carbon dioxide stored as biomass per cubic metre over the building’s lifespan, establishing the project as a benchmark in low-carbon, regenerative construction.
